Favourites against outcomes

This table fills in as games are played: every price footyhome captures is kept, and the last capture before each bounce is treated as the closing price.

For each price band it will show how often the favourite actually won, what the prices implied, and what a flat $1 on every favourite or every outsider would have returned, by season, club or ground.

Past results don't predict future ones, and returns are before any bookmaker limits. This is analysis, not advice.

How prices are collected

Head-to-head, line and total prices for every upcoming AFL game, from each Australian bookmaker the feed covers.
Once a day on days without games; four times on game days between 11 am and 9 pm (Melbourne time).
An extra capture about ten minutes before each bounce, used as the closing price.
Every capture is stored, so you can see how a price moved across the week on each match page.
