footyhome is an independent site for people who love AFL football and its numbers. It is not affiliated with the AFL, any club or any bookmaker.

Statistics

Match results and player statistics for every VFL and AFL game since 1897 come from the public record compiled by AFL Tables. New games are added automatically after they are played. Some statistics were only recorded from certain seasons: kicks, handballs and marks from the 1960s, tackles from 1987, and contested possessions, clearances and most modern statistics from 1998. Where a statistic wasn't recorded, footyhome shows a dash and leaves that game out of the average.

Fixture and live scores

The fixture and live scores come from the free Squiggle API. During a game, scores refresh about every 20 seconds and appear at the top of every page.

Odds

Bookmaker prices come from The Odds API: once a day on days without games, four times on game days, and once more just before each bounce. Every capture is kept so you can see how prices moved. footyhome is not a bookmaker and takes no bets. 18+ only.

Highlights and photos

Highlights are the AFL's own videos, played through YouTube's embedded player; footyhome doesn't copy or host them. Player photos come from Wikimedia Commons under public-domain or Creative Commons licences, credited on each player's page, or are licensed photos uploaded by footyhome. Where there's no photo, the player's initials appear on their club colours.
